Instruments for observing, measuring and examining signal waveform and spectrum (oscillographs).
DIGITAL STORAGE OSCILLOSCOPE C9-8
The oscilloscope is designed for examining signal waveforms by visually observing them, measuring their amplitude and time parameters, with digital information about the parameters of the signals being measured and deflection factors displayed on the CRT screen and transmitted to the common-user channel (CUC) interface.
The oscilloscope can be used in automated measuring and monitoring systems. It finds applications in various fields of science and technology in the debugging and repair of radio and electronic equipment, measurements in nuclear physics, optics, hydraulics.
The oscilloscope depends for its operation on analog-to-digital conversion of the signals being examined and on storage of this information in a digital memory. Digitization and storage are carried out in real time. The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is built around a unique circuit providing frequency digitization up to 20 MHz. Conversion of information and control of the operating modes are performed by a bit-expandable microprocessor of the 589 series.
Irrespective of whether the signal is single or recurrent, it is displayed on the CRT screen, type 16ЛК1Б, without flickering and loss-of brightness. The use of a high-resolution, high-brilliance picture tube 16ЛК1Б has resulted in a top-class picture quality and made (he traditional FOCUS and BRIGHTNESS controls unnecessary.
The amplitude value of the signal at the marker point or between the markers is displayed in an alphanumerical form on the CRT screen. The memory is used for data writing from one or two inputs. In any case, there is a reference signal storage mode in which the current varying signal is displayed along with the reference signal. Vertical and horizontal expansion of the picture makes possible detailed viewing and precise measurement of the pulses under examination, particularly low-frequency pulses with a repetition frequency of 0.01 Hz and lower.
The instrument features programmed control of write-in sensitivity and operating modes. The digital data on the signals being measured are retained as long as the instrument supply is on and can be transmitted to the external devices, CUC interface, which enables the instrument to be used in automated measuring systems.
